How to clean silverware
What you will need:
- Tin Foil
- Bicarbonate of Soda
- Boiling Water
- Plastic Container
- Dishwashing Liquid
- Soft Cloth
Method:
- Place a piece of tin foil in the bottom of the plastic container.
- Pour boiling water on top of the foil making sure add enough for the amount of silverware.
- Add ½ a cup of bicarbonate of soda to the water.
- Place silverware into container ensuring all silverware is spread out evenly on top of the foil.
- Leave for 5 – 10 minutes for process to take effect.
- Once clean remove from water.
- Wash immediately in warm soapy water.
- Dry and polish with a soft cloth.
How to clean brassware
What you will need:
- Salt
- Vinegar
- Plain Flour
- Clean work surface
- Dishwashing Liquid
- Water
- Soft Cloth
- Bowl
Method:
- Mix ½ a teaspoon of salt with ½ a cup of vinegar in a bowl.
- Gradually add plain flour until mixture forms a paste.
- Once you have a paste like mixture, apply the paste to your brassware ensuring each item is fully covered with the mixture.
- Leave for 5 – 10 minutes to process.
- Rub each item with the mixture before rinsing with warm soapy water.
- Once the paste has been rinsed off use a soft cloth to buff.
