How fix a ceiling that has water damage
Have you come across water damage to your ceiling and not sure how to fix it? Here are simple steps to consider before tackling the job!
First, do not repaint yet. You will need to check for any cracked tiles and replace them if they are broken. If there are gaps in between your tiles, adjust your tiles so this doesn’t happen. If there are no issues to the exterior of your home, now look for any plumbing issues ie. leaks. If you spot a leak or dampness, it’s best to contact a professional plumber to rectify the issue.
If you do find yourself with a plumbing issue on your hands, fix as soon as possible and allow for the ceiling to dry completely before you start your repaint work.
When you are happy to start painting and all water issues have been resolved, remember to give your ceiling two to three coats of paint after you have sanded and evened out the ceiling surface. Invest in good, quality ceiling paint so that your paint job can last longer.
