DIY Mosaic Mirror
There are endless choices of colour and patterns when we consider mosaics. Give your mirrors a personal touch with your favourite mosaic patterns.
You will need:
- A mirror
- Grout
- Mosaic tiles sheets
- Adhesive glue
- A sponge
- Scissors
- Cloth
- Gloves
- Bucket
- Water
- Masking tape
Method:
- Select a mirror you want to work on, any shape and size. Make sure you have all the materials needed for the project.
- Using your scissors measure and cut each of the mosaic tile sheets to fit the border of the mirror.
- Taking your cloth, wipe down the surface of the mirror that you will be placing the glue onto. Make sure the surface is dry.
- Once you have done this, put your gloves on, to avoid getting any glue onto your hands. Take the adhesive glue and spread it along the frame of the mirror, this will make it easier to place your mosaic tile sheet onto the frame.
- Once you have placed glue onto the surface of the frame take your already cut mosaic tile sheet and position it neatly onto the glue.
- When you have done this over the whole frame wait for the glue to dry completely.
- Place masking tape around the mosaic frame to avoid getting grout onto the exposed mirror.
- Mix the grout mixture into a bucket. Using your hands, place the grout into the groves of the mosaic tile sheet spreading evenly around the whole frame.
- Take your sponge, lightly soaked with water, and wash the excess grout off your mosaic tile.
- Once you have done this leave the grout to dry. When it is completely dry remove the masking tape and give your mirror a good wipe to remove any fingerprints and excess grout.
