Upgrade Your Kitchen on a Budget

Budgets are tight but that doesn’t mean you can’t do a little DIY on the cheap with DIY Depot’s top 5 quick kitchen fixes!

  1. Upgrade those counters or islands:
A new or refurbished kitchen counter or surface will be the most noticeable change in your kitchen. Even on a budget, investing in a beautiful kitchen counter like marble or granite will make all the difference.
  2. Polish worn out cabinets:
If your kitchen cabinets still function perfectly but are just a bit worse for wear, all you need is a fresh coat of paint! Sand down the cabinets and spruce them up with a good primer, paint and finish. Et voila! Good as new.
  3. Choose clean or colour:
Kitchens should be a place of hygiene and cleanliness. Nothing says this more than the colour white. Plus this monochromatic colour will brighten up the room. However, if you aren’t a fan of classic white, a colourful feature wall or bright colour scheme can also go a long way to making your kitchen look way more modern.
  4. Light it up:
Good lighting is the easiest upgrade you can do to breathe new life into your kitchen. Lighting will enhance your kitchen’s best features while making it feel warm and homely. We recommend hanging down-lights with under counter lights for a stunning effect.
  5. Open up:
Often closed cabinets can make kitchens dull. Add a few open shelves to open up the atmosphere. Crockery can be neatly displayed on open shelves to add some pizazz to kitchens.
